Creating Highlights

VidSwap's 'Highlights' feature puts the power in your hands to create a custom list of playclips for any and all to view.

If you are wanting to pull clips from an unlogged game, or are looking for footage that isn't contained in the tags of a logged game, please check out our Clip Creator.

IN FLOW-BASED SPORTS (such as Volleyball, Basketball, Hockey, or Soccer) CREATING A HIGHLIGHT starts by clicking on the 'watch' button of the game you wish to pull clips from.

(If your game was not logged, but you are needing to pull clips out of it, you can do so with our Clip Creator.)

If you were wanting to grab clips out of multiple games at once, you can pull multiple games into the filters by marking the checkboxes to the left of the games' titles and clicking on the large 'Actions' box (and selecting the 'watch' option) at the top right hand corner of the page:

When the video player opens, you'll see a list of Simple Filters running down the left side of the page (below the video viewscreen).  These give you a number of pre-set filtering options; simply click on the filter of your choice to populate your playclip list with those clips.

If you are wanting to filter for specific clips not on the 'Simple Filter' list, click on the 'Advanced' filter option:

Choose the type of clip you're looking for from the list of filters on the lower left side of the screen, and click on the 'Apply' button to pull up the search results (for instance, if we wanted to look up shots by 3 teams that resulted in saves, we'd set up that filter like this):

Click the box(es) next to the clips you wish to add to your Highlight.

(Please note that you cannot change the order of the clips used in the Highlight at this point; that can be done after the Highlight has been created.)

Most clips have a default length or duration.  If you would like to lengthen or shorten your clips, you can see how here.

Once your clips are sorted and in the shape you'd like them to be, click the 'Create Highlight Clip' button:

If the selected clips have multiple angles of footage in them, you can choose which angle's footage is used in the Highlight.  You CAN select multiple angles if you would like to use more than one in your Highlight:

A dialog box will pop up asking you to either create a new Highlight or add to an existing Highlight.  Please note that when adding plays to a previously created Highlight, there is a short processing / encoding time, and the new clips won’t immediately be available to view in the Highlight.  This normally takes a few minutes.

When you are viewing your Highlight, the playclips can be rearranged via the 'Edit' menu (and drag&drop), and you can add text descriptions (if desired) to the 'Description' column:

After your Highlight has been created or updated, you can access it in the 'Highlights' section of your 'Applications' dashboard:

Telestrations can also be saved on the clips via the Telestration editor.  Please visit that help topic here.

Highlights can be e-mailed to anyone you wish.  Please visit that help topic here.

You can also create Highlights from Reviews you created or were sent.  This is an excellent option for players wanting to save clips sent to them by coaches, coaches wanting a more permanent record of an assignment being worked on, or any other reason.

In the Review, just follow the steps laid out above (select your clips, click on the 'Create Highlight' button, etc.) and you'll be all set.

IN PLAY-BASED SPORTS (such as Football, Baseball, or Softball) CREATING A HIGHLIGHT also starts with the 'watch'/filter view:
